English Language Development Information Sheets
Designated ELD 3 is an intensive English language development course for English learners scoring level 2 or 3 on the ELPAC. The course is aligned with the California English Language Development standards that prepare learners to build learner competence and confidence through consistent strategic partner work and collaborative instructional routines needed for success. Instruction will focus on academic vocabulary development, language, syntax, grammar, and writing structures through close reading of developmentally appropriate and content-level-appropriate informational and literary texts. Students will explicitly develop language to facilitate discussion and construct authentic written products.
