| Principal's Message |
Hello Spartans:
Feeling proud of our Spartans!
Today we had about 600 students walking to downtown Mountain View to exercise their constitutional rights to assemble and protest peacefully. By the time we arrived downtown, the crowd had grown to close to 1000 according to the Mountain View Police Department.
Because there was such a large crowd, Kevin Mack and I accompanied them to ensure their safety. I want to thank our District Office officials, Ms. Fought and Ms. Benson, who were also present to assist.
I want to express my profound gratitude to our Spartans for obeying the law and being so respectful. I was so incredibly proud of our students for following the law, and I want to thank the rest of our staff for honoring the messages that we have sent. It is truly an honor and a privilege to be the principal of Mountain View High School.
Please do not leave your bikes on campus overnight!
As I was working on this, we noticed that there are more than the usual number of bikes on campus. We ask that you do not leave your bike on campus overnight, as we have not captured the bike thief. As you know, he has used a blowtorch to cut the locks. We really don’t want to see you have your bike stolen.
Be courteous to our neighbors!
As respectful as our Spartans were today during the protest, we have received numerous messages from our neighbors that our students are leaving trash in their driveways and yards. Please be respectful of our neighbors!
Winter Ball Tomorrow
I know that there can be many challenges that each of us is navigating. I hope that you are with the loved ones who support you and lift you up as we go into the weekend, where I will see our Spartans at the Winter Ball. I want to thank Ms. Clarke and the ASB students for their hard work, and I look forward to seeing our Spartans!
Outstanding Student Achievements
This week we have so many amazing student achievements. Here they are:

Girl Scout Gold Award Winners
I would like to extend a big congratulations to Seniors Kendall Nord and Chloe Savage on earning their Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest achievement possible in Girl Scouting. Both are members of local troop 60402 and have been Girl Scouts for over a decade! Earning the prestigious Gold Award involves identifying a passion, researching it, forming a team, creating a proposal, leading the project for 80+ hours, and making a real-world impact.
Chloe’s Gold Award project titled “Paint the Future: Inspiring Interest in Computer Science & AI” involved the creation and implementation of AI focused workshops for all of 7th grade at a local middle school, specifically targeting girls. Through it Chloe was able to spark their interest (+15%) and increase their understanding (+25%) of CS and AI in new, creative ways. Chloe would like to extend a special thanks to Ms. Winawer and several MV students/alumni who helped make this possible, including: Emily Markova, Nikita Narang, Juhi Raghavan, Archita Kanduri, Mihika Bobbarjung, Cinty Lin, Ava Seto, Veda Mungara, Eliza Barton, Josi Wang, Chantelle Mendis, and Reut Shiran!

Kendall’s project focused on spreading awareness on the dangers of fentanyl and the legal protections provided under the California Good Samaritan Law in the event of an overdose. Kendall worked with the MVHS Fentanyl & Substance Awareness Club to educate and spread awareness of this law with the goal of minimizing hesitation towards calling 911 and seeking potentially life-saving care in the event of a suspected overdose. The club worked collaboratively to design informative posters that are displayed on campus, adding fentanyl awareness content to the MVLA district website, and tabling at the Ambassadors Unity Walk Event. Pictured below is Kaitlin Cho (Club President) , Sasha Zinn (Club Vice President), and Kendall Nord (Club Co-President) tabling at the Unity Walk last spring.

French Club School Visit
Thanks to Ms. Gres for sharing that the members from the French Club and French Honor Society visited and taught French at the Mountain View Parent Nursery School across the street this week.
CASC SABLE 2026 Conference to Sacramento
Thanks to Danie Robledo for bringing a group of students from Sacramento last Sunday to attend the CASC SABLE 2026 Conference!During this trip, our students worked in groups and presented in front of the California State Senate Education Committee on issues such as restorative justice, civic education, mental health, financial literacy, student representation in district funding, support systems for underrepresented students, and AI implementation. We had 9 students attending from MVHS, 4 of whom were AVID students, and a few students from LAHS as well.

Thank you,
Kip Glazer
